We are very happy to have you here! Yoga Shastra started with the wish to pass on the teachings of our Guru's Swami Sivananda and Swami Vishnudevananda. We believe that Yoga is a complete science of self-discipline which balances, harmonizes, purifies, and strengthens the Body, Mind, and Soul of the practitioner. Yoga shows the way to perfect health, mind control and peace with one's Self, nature and the Divine energy.


Yoga gives you the tools to find your way back to your true Self, which is your true nature of peace, happiness and bliss.


Everyone can do Yoga, no matter age, physical health or previous experiences. An open state of mind and the wish to learn are the most important. Because we can only show you the path....you are the only one who can walk on it.

The science of life

Ayurveda is the ancient Indian system of natural and holistic medicine. When translated from Sanskrit Ayurveda means “the science of life” (the Sanskrit root Ayur means “longevity” or “life” and veda means “science”).

While allopathic medicine tends to focus on the management of disease, Ayurveda bestows us with the knowledge of how to prevent disease and how to eliminate its root cause if it does occur.

According to Ayurveda, each person will be influenced by certain elements more than others. This is because of their prakriti, or natural constitution. Ayurveda categorizes the different constitutions into three different dosha

Ayurveda places great importance on one’s pathya, or lifestyle (eating habits and daily routine). Ayurveda also provides guidance on how to adjust our lifestyle based on the change of seasons.

we will be staying five nights at The Sivananda Yoga Ashram which is one of the most famous yoga ashrams in South India. It is surrounded by beautiful forest and just next to big lake in Neyyar Dam wild life sanctuary. We will follow the daily ashram schedule waking up early morning with guided meditation, chanting and prayers. Each day there are two long yoga classes, a philosophy lecture, karma yoga service and the day ends with meditation and chanting.
