Our beloved Masters
Swami Sivananda (1887-1963)
Swami Sivananda is one of greatest sages of modern India. After a successful career as a doctor, he renounced the world, practiced intense meditation and attained self-realization. As a prodigious author, he published more than 300 books and pamphlets, thus spreading all aspects of Yoga and philosophy in simple yet profound words. In his ashram, the Divine Life Society in Rishikesh, Himalayas he trained many outstanding disciples. In 1957 he sent one such disciple, Swami Vishnudevananda, to teach Yoga in the West.
Swami Vishnu Devanada (1927-1993)
Swami Vishnudevananda lived with his master Swami Sivananda for 12 years. In 1957 he traveled to America, and in the early 70´s came to Europe, founding international Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Centres in many cities. He was a dynamic Hatha and Raja Yoga master bringing the classical teachings of Yoga and Vedanta in its purest form to the West. He was also a tireless campaigner for world peace bringing the message of peace to many troubled spots all over the world. Thousands of students have been personally trained by Swami Vishnudevananda as yoga teachers and much more have been inspired by his books “The Complete Illustrated Book of Yoga”, “Meditation and Mantras” and “Sivananda Companion to Yoga”.
As teachers of the ancient knowledge of yoga we are honored to share the knowledge we have received from our teachers and through our own yoga practice. We feel very blessed of being able to help, inspire and guide our students on the path of yoga towards a happier, healthier and more peaceful life.
We always try to give each student in a class individual attention. It can be a gentle correction in a posture or a verbal instruction. Sometimes one of us will assist the other in a class, this is a great opportunity for us to really be able to give individual attention and guidance for all students.

He was born and raised in Kerala, South India. As a teenager he started to work for an Ayruvedic pharmacist which lead to further studies in Ayurveda treatments and Yoga in 2004. After working as an Ayurvedic therapist and a Yoga teacher at different resorts and at a hospital, Rajesh committed full hearted to the yogic path when he took the Sivananda Teacher Training Course (TTC) in 2008 and later the Yoga-Acharya  (Advanced Yoga Teachers) training course in 2009 at the Sivananda Ashram, India.
He served five years in the ashram and has come back every year since then to serve as a karma yogi.

He has helped out with the daily ashram running, while also giving lectures in yoga philosophy and teaching daily asanas classes for both beginners and intermediate students. He has also assisted on several Yoga teachers trainings at the ashram.

His time at the Ashram has given him a deep knowledge and experience of yoga, both as a teacher and as a student. He always try to bring this experience into the classes and individual interactions with all his students in order to give each student the guidance and teachings that she or he needs to develop further on the path of Yoga.

During 2012 and 2013 he was also a familiar face on a famous national TV-channel in Kerala, since he had a daily yoga show in the mornings.

Rajesh explains his passion for teaching with the words "My work enables me to share my knowledge of the ancient science of Yoga and Ayurveda to help create wellness of mind, body and spirit."

At the moment Rajesh is teaching in English as he still learning Swedish.

Karin has always been interested in exercise and used to be a professional athlete. After finishing her career in sports and with a demanding job she found balance through yoga, which also helps her to keep a strong and flexible body. After several years of practice she became a Poweryoga instructor in 2010 and has ever since held classes in Poweryoga and Hatha yoga. “In yoga I have found something good where I can get both physical exercise and spiritual inner growth. I have found a place for rejuvenation, peace, balance and the ability to focus. Welcome to share this experience with me!”

Kristin, (spiritual name: Anadhjot) is a creative Kundalini yoga teacher who will inspire you to experience the power of yoga. Kristin is an internationally certified Kundalini Yoga and Meditation teacher and has been teaching in Linköping since 2012. She also plays and sings Kundalini yoga and meditation music which you can listen to on Spotify and iTunes. Search on her spiritual name, Anadhjot; which means “Infinite Light”.

Her first experience of Yoga was at a fitness center in Linköping. The practice was good for her physical body but she could feel that was something more to Yoga that was not taught there. In 2010 she went on her own to India and the Sivananda Ashram in Neyyar Dam, Kerala. She was not sure what she was missing in her practice but knew that she wanted to learn more about Yoga. The experience was a life changing one and for the first time she felt that she had found a way of life that would lead her to peace of mind, happiness and compassion for her self and for others.

Sandra left her job at the Swedish Red Cross a year later and went back to the ashram to take the TTC in early 2011 and later the Advanced TTC in 2012.

She stayed on as a karma yogi at the ashram after completing the TTC. There she was doing mainly administration work and teaching the daily asana classes.

She also assisted on the TTC's held in the ashram. One year quickly became two years and in March 2013 she moved back to Sweden and her hometown Linköping.

She tries to explain why she loves to teach with the words " When I teach I feel closest to my teachers and the Divine energy. It is not my teaching, I am just the instrument to help others feel inner peace, compassion, gratefulness, and contentment in their life's."

Sandra is mainly teaching on evenings and weekends since she also has another full-time job.
