Yoga Course Autumn 2022

Our teaching

Our aim is to give each student a clear and proper knowledge of yoga so that you can establish a daily practice in order to improve your physical and mental well-being. We do not focus on the number of Asanas that we practice but to practice each asana in the correct way with inner awareness.

As teachers of the ancient knowledge of yoga, we are honored to share the knowledge we have received from our teachers and through our own yoga practice. We feel very blessed of being able to help, inspire and guide our students on the path of yoga towards a happier, healthier and more peaceful life.

We always try to give each student in a class individual attention. It can be a gentle correction in a posture or a verbal instruction.

Yoga courses 2022

The classes are held at Yoga Shastra, Storgatan 70, 582 28 Linköping ( the studio is just opposite of Borggården in the city centre)

The autumn Hatha yoga courses are starting from 6th of September. We are happy to announce that Anna Hall is teaching Kids yoga course and Kriya Yoga on Mondays and Hanna Walsö is teaching “Rytm, rörelse och röst för dig som är kvinna” on Wednesdays!

Yoga is for everyone. There for we offer part – or full scholarships for our yoga courses and we can consider part scholarship for our teacher training courses. Please contact us by email if you have financial difficulties but a strong wish to learn yoga.

Beginner’s level 1 (on Tuesdays)

For you who are completely new to hatha yoga or wish to gain a clear knowledge of the fundamental principles of hatha yoga. We will have an extra focus on gentle stretching and relaxation for body and mind. During the course, you will be introduced to new asanas and yogic breathing techniques along with their benefits, counter-indications and proper technique. After the course, you will know the basic asanas of a Sivananda class, Surya Namaskar, Pranayama (breathing techniques) and proper relaxation.

Course Information: There are two course for yoga level

  • Time: on Tuesdays at 17.15 – 18.30
  • Date: 6th of September to December 6th
  • Duration: 75 minutes.
  • The number of classes: 13
  • Cost: 2400 kr

During the course, you will gain a clear knowledge of the fundamental principles of hatha yoga and be introduced to new asanas and yogic breathing techniques along with their benefits, counter-indications and proper technique. After the course, you will know the basic asanas of a Sivananda class, Surya Namaskar, Pranayama (breathing techniques) and proper relaxation. In this course, you will be given the opportunity to start practising the headstand – Sirshasana

Course Information: 

  • Time: on Thursdays at 19.15 – 20.30
  • Date: 8th of September to December 8th
  • Duration: 75 minutes.

Intermediate level

For you who have completed the beginners level 2′ course or already have practising yoga for some time. You will learn new variations and new asanas along with deepening your practice of the basic postures. We will continue to practice the headstand – Sirhasana. More focus on holding the postures comfortably for a long time while being aware of your thoughts and breathing.

Lunchtime yoga

These classes are suitable for beginners to intermediates. This one-hour classes will help to reduce stress, alleviate pain and tension in the neck and lower back areas, ease out stiff joints, stretch out tight muscles, reduce fatigue and induce relaxation process.

Meditation course

This course is suitable for anyone who wants to try meditation for the first time and also for regular meditators interested in exploring another meditation method.

During the course, you will learn the basic principles of meditation and the techniques according to traditional yoga.

The class will be held in the morning because that is the best time for meditation practice. We will start the class with Kriyas (yogic cleansing exercise), breathing techniques, gentle yoga asanas and then continue with a guided meditation.

In this course, you will learn Breathing techniques, Yogic Kriya (cleansing exercise), Mantras and the basic meditation techniques.

Kids Yoga-Yoga Shastra

Kids Yoga (taught in Swedish)

Yoga ger barn verktygen för en hälsosam framtid.
Ett enkelt och roligt sätt att använda fantasin genom yoga positioner. Vi använder lekar med teman som djur och natur för att stimulera sinnet och ge barnen möjlighet att expandera, utforska och uttrycka sina unika fysiska, emotionella och mentala gåvor.
 
Barnen lär sig yoga positioner, andningsövningar och avslappning samtidigt som vi har kul ihop med skratt och lekar tillsammans!

Yoga Shastra- Kriya Yoga

Kriya Yoga (taught in Swedish)

Mitt namn är Anna Hall och jag är lärare i både Hatha yoga och Kriya Yoga med stark förankring i den andliga Indiska traditionen. Jag guidas av och går i andlig träning med min Guru Swami Shankarananda Maharajji som även är Kriya Yoga mästare.

Kriya Yogan är en avancerad och ursprunglig yogalära med flera traditioner där jag fokuserar på de potenta 18 Kriya asanas givna av Kriya Yogans fader Mahavatar Babaji. Dessa positioner stimulerar energin att dras inåt och röra sig upp genom kroppens energicentra (chakran), lösa ut blockeringar och väcka det andliga medvetandet hos människan. Passet innehåller även pranayama och meditation. Behövs inga förkunskaper för att delta, bara en nyfikenhet!

Rhythm class by Hanna Walsö

Rytm, rörelse och röst för dig som är kvinna!

En möjlighet att landa. I nuet. I dig själv.

Både i stillhet och i rörelse.

För dig som tycker om rytmer, musik, rörelse. För dig som vill bli vän med din röst.

Och för dig som vill landa i en gemenskap med andra kvinnor. Där samtalet, lyssnandet och det autentiska mötet är kärnan.

Vi samlas för att för en stund utforska rytmerna – i kroppen, i livet, i rörelsen, i trumman, i rösten.

Vi skapar en trygg atmosfär tillsammans. Med nyfikenhet, glädje och lekfullhet. Inga förkunskaper krävs.

Varje tillfälle under hösten kommer att ha sitt eget tema utifrån med betoning på Rytm, Rörelse och/eller Röst. Det kommer att finnas en ram, en struktur, som återkommer varje gång. Där får du möjlighet att landa utanför vardagens brus, hitta in till dig själv och uppleva hur det är att vara sedd och lyssnad på i autentiska möten tillsammans med andra. Du bestämmer alltid själv hur mycket eller hur lite du vill dela med dig av till andra, hur stort eller hur litet du vill delta, hur mycket eller hur lite plats du vill ta i rummet.

Hanna Walsö har spelat västafrikanska trummor i 15 år och väver in rytmer, rörelser och sånger tillsammans med toning, ljudande och musik i en resa som går både inåt, in i dig själv, och utåt, i autentiska möten tillsammans med andra. www.walso.se

We Yoga Shastra at Storgatan 70, 582 28 Linköping. It is close to Domkyrkan in central Linköping.

We have yoga mats, meditation pillows and cushion which you are welcome to borrow for the sessions with us.
