About Ayurvedic Diet

Traditional Ayurvedic cooking developed over thousands of years in Indian kitchens. The Ayurvedic diet is an eating pattern that has been around for thousands of years. It is based on the principles of Ayurvedic medicine and focuses on balancing different types of energy within your body, which is said to improve health. Unlike many other diets, the Ayurvedic diet provides personalized recommendations about which foods to eat and avoid based on your body type. It is also popular because it is not only said to promote better health for your body but also your mind.

Spices are ingredients in many synergistic Ayurvedic herbal formulations. There is know-how generated over generations in India about the use of specific spice formulations and combinations to include in different dishes. For example, many spices release their flavors and aromas best when sautéed in ghee (clarified butter) or oil, and some when they are dry-roasted. Ghee helps transport the therapeutic value of spices to the different parts of the body.
